Walkthrough for CoD5 modding | Export Xmodels

Tutorial Xmodels
Hello and welcome to our walkthrough for CoD5 modding. In this tutorial, we will learn how to export Xmodels from any Call of Duty game to our Maya software. All necessary links will be provided in the video description, so make sure to check that out.

To start, you will need two things: Maya, which is used to export Xmodels, and a Call of Duty game. For this tutorial, we will be using Call of Duty: Black Ops 1, but you can export from any other Call of Duty game as well. Keep in mind that you may need to run a cracked version of the game in order to access the maps. Once you have your Call of Duty game ready, open it and navigate to the Xmodel Exporter tool.

In the Xmodel Exporter tool, you will see a list of all the Xmodels available in the game. Select the Xmodel you want to work with and export it to your desktop. Now, open Maya and import the exported Xmodel using the Xmodel Importer plugin. This will allow you to view and edit the model in Maya.

Next, adjust the textures by opening the Hypershade window in Maya. You can preview the model with different textures by changing the materials. Once you are satisfied, go to the Xmodel Exporter tool, select the Xmodel, and export it to a folder on your computer.

Now, open the Mod tools for Call of Duty and navigate to the model export folder. Create a new material using the material name from Maya. Copy the texture image to the folder and link it to the new material. Save the material with the appropriate settings, such as metal or glass.

If your Xmodel has multiple materials, repeat the process for each material. Convert the texture image to the DXT5 format and link it to the material in Maya. Finally, create a new entry for the Xmodel in the Mod tools and link it to the exported Xmodel file.

Once everything is set up, you can preview the Xmodel in the game editor and make any final adjustments if needed. Remember, this tutorial is specifically for exporting inanimate objects as Xmodels. For exporting characters or weapons, you will need to follow a different process.

I hope you found this tutorial helpful! If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment. Thank you for watching and see you next time. Goodbye!
