StreamRay (Cams.com): How to set up OBS to work as a webcam model
Hello everyone, this is Mikhail, the technical support manager of the Cams.com website. In this video, I will show you how to connect OBS software to stream on the StreamRay website. OBS is a program for broadcasting high-quality streams on various websites with many customization options. You can download the program from the link in the description.
In the description, you will also find a video on how to install and set up OBS. First, let’s start by running our program. If you see a black window instead of the camera image, go to sources and select the device that is your camera. Now, let’s log into our account on the StreamRay website.
To log in, we need to go to our profile on the Cams.com website and select the form where StreamRay is listed. Copy the login and password of the site and log into your account. In your account, press the “Go Live” button. In the pop-up window, press “Procast” and in the dropdown menu, choose “VS Procast.” Save the settings.
In the chat window, copy the stream key link. Return to OBS, click on settings, go to the streaming tab, paste the stream key link in the server box, and leave the key field empty. Click apply. Then, go to the output tab, set the video bitrate to 1500, and also click apply. If you have a slower internet connection, consider changing the audio bitrate to 128kbps.
Now, our broadcasting software is fully set up and ready to run. Let’s check how it works. To start the broadcast, exit the settings, click OK, and in the right menu, press the “Start Streaming” button. When the broadcast is successfully launched, you will receive a message in the chat confirming the connection, which is located here.
After starting the broadcast, right below the menu with the start broadcast button, you will see statistics such as the quality of your image. The most important things to pay attention to are the CPU load, FPS indicator, and bitrate stability. FPS should not drop below 25 frames per second, and the indicator should always remain green.
Once we are confident in the quality of our broadcast, press the “Start Broadcast” button on the StreamRay page. Since your image does not appear on the broadcasting page with a preview, you can use window scaling in OBS to monitor how you look on the broadcast. To do this, go to OBS, right-click on the window with the image, and select “Projector Mode.”
