Streamate Models: KYC for Individuals
Hello everyone, Vanessa from Streamate here to talk about KYC (Know Your Customer) and what you need to do to make sure you are in compliance. Please note that this video is intended for models who are paid as individuals, meaning you are not paid through a company. For models paid through a company, more information will be provided in a future announcement by Streamate, so stay tuned.
On August 2nd, 2018, Streamate sent out an email to models who are paid as individuals, stating that we will soon be requiring the account holder information to match the payee section of their account. Additionally, models will need to submit proof of address in the form of an official piece of mail (such as a utility bill, school transcript, internet bill, or medical bill). No junk mail or magazine subscriptions will be accepted. Models must follow the 3 steps for verification for KYC as outlined in the email sent by Streamate. Once submitted, our teams will review the document and verified information for approval. If everything is in place, no further action will be needed on your part.
Streamate has not set a formal deadline for when this information needs to be submitted, but it will be announced in the near future. If you are unable to submit the information by the deadline, your payments may be put on hold until the information is reviewed and approved. It is advised to do this sooner rather than later if possible.
KYC is a process financial institutions require in order to process payments successfully. The details of who and when are unknown, but if requested by financial institutions such as credit card processors or banks, we need to provide evidence that we know our customers. We are being proactive in preparing for any additional requests we may receive. If this information is requested by a financial institution we work with, that will be the only scenario where we release this information.

This is a quick follow-up to the email message (dated August 2, 2018) sent to Streamate models who are paid directly by Streamate as “individuals” (or non-entities). As part of Streamate’s efforts to comply with international KYC (or Know Your Customer) financial regulations, maintain current partnerships, and further expand future payment options, Streamate will soon require that: *the account holder information on file matches the payee information on file, and *that Models will also submit proof of address in the form of official mail listing your name and mailing address as it appears in the Account Holder section of your Streamate account. Examples of acceptable proof of address documents include, but are not limited to: *Utility bills such as water/sewer/trash, electricity, gas *School transcripts *Hospital bills *Telephone or internet bills *Bank or credit card statements *etc . In the same message from Streamate was a set of payment verification instructions that explained the three steps to verify your account holder, address, and payee information (including submitting your proof of address document). You can also read these instructions on the official KYC model help page ( ). . . Streamate will announce an official deadline for models to submit this information in the next few weeks. Models that do not submit the required information by the Deadline Date (TBA) will have their payments put on hold: you will be able to stream during this time, but no payments will be released until the payment verification steps have been followed and the information submitted has been approved.
