Hello and welcome to my channel, My name is Aeryn Aesc, and today I will be doing a speed run of Tomb Raider Definitive Edition! We are going to be in Scotland for this one! As this is a speed run I don’t want to give out spoilers, so I will only touch base on the important elements needed for this run, feel free to ask any questions down in the comment section.
Ok lets jump right in: Right as the game starts, instead of hitting the button to take off her backpack, hit left dpad, this will skip you a dialogue from a character in game you would have to deal with anyways.
Head all the way down the path. Climbing up when need to get to the next areas until we reach a point that overlooking a large waterfall that goes into a gorge which connects to a dark foggy area.
I think most of you know by now but in this particular Definitive Edition, the puzzles aren’t as tricky or lengthy as the others or other games in the genre – that’s why they usually referred to as casual – as it’s the objective here is to get the job done.
So go head through the dark foggy areas then go down towards to where the waterfalls end in the gorge.
Use L2 to control and manipulate the grapple aim down on the rope dangling on the left to jump off and swing from across to the other side and into some bushes – remember we’re doing this with as much speed as we could manage – this is part 1 of the speedrun right here.
After dropping out from the bushes, go on all the way to the left till Lara finds herself right to this sort of small cave thing near this huge rock in a pool.
Here it should have some sort of “message” written on a part of it – interact and activate that.
Use up as the directional stick towards left and down while hold and the left trigger in it will cause Lara to scale it.
Scaling done, head to right direction up to the topmost path which will lead her eventually in a room with several water falls.
In there are all kinds of platforms and different sizes that Lara should swing in. Swing off when reaching the end of that section in order to get up top near where the water is the brightest.
Get as much height as possible there when we get to another wall scaling part.
Scale again when we get a certain direction from the wall scaling as she should be going head up and right then all the way up.
Keep a careful eye on the bottom platforms too because there should be hidden platform there that contain 3 boxes of grenade when you look towards up or right from those 3 hidden platforms.
I wouldn’t really recommend hitting on that since it only does add a bit of time that not needed for this particular play through.
After going straight right, we should encounter one final scaling part near water again.
After which – when you’re off those vines – take that long jump to go past this big rock over this path.
After hitting bottom once again, go as the way pointed by the arrow or heading all the way to the right while the path is going the right for the most part with couple turns.
Lets look for a wall as there should be a second type of message there. So hit interact to activate. We want to head right instead because in the left its mostly like going back all over.
Head as towards where the arrow is pointing this time it should be a large circular hole that we can jump right. Make sure to look out to it too because there will be fire, fire that shouldn’t touch Lara! Dying in this level defeats the purpose of this video lol!
After that last check point, you should go this straight path until its basically at the end. Use jump right at the end right into some sort of a dark chamber then you should be getting those extra ammo to load that shotgun as those large boulder you are about to encounter – trust me.
After clearing this final large boulders (using shotgun obviously here). Go straight till getting near a sort of mountain pass leading to a temple as Lara should finally put on her climbing shoes near there.
After you use left trigger to ascend you should be able to take it as easy as this section until the end.
Hop, turn right, and the mission accomplished.
And so finally Lara is able to run right the temple of the lost art for real this time with so many lives saved using all this speedrun tips above lol!
Its amazing right? How one short of a tutorial helped with Tomb Raider in Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition!
