Francesca (Christmas Franchesca): Hey guys, so my question today is what do you appreciate about each other? Umm, there’s sooo many qualities that I admire in y’all, but one of the first things that comes to mind is your selflessness. Um, how you never hesitate to step up when somebody needs you. You’re helpful, you’re giving.
Host: Yeah, sometimes, though, you need to remind someone to set boundaries and say no if you’re feeling overwhelmed.
Francesca: That’s true! I just really love your selflessness, especially your giving. Thank you guys. [Music]
Host: Oh so much respect to your stepdad. Yeah, thank you. Yeah, thank you. Curious; we must be on the same wavelength when it comes to parents’ compassion, and her ability to see beauty in so many different things. Even in trying moments, she still sees that beauty in the inner beauty and I think personally, the core of our relationship is that ability to be able to do that. And we get older, our physical looks, you know, they’re always the same, and to appreciate that inner beauty as well, you know, not just the flesh of the outside, but that inner soul and to see the beauty in the inner soul. And that’s what I love over all these years and it gets deeper and deeper as we get older and we experience new challenges and more things like she reminded me a while ago, you know, interesting a couple days ago, Nina Hartley tweeted something about how our body isn’t superficial, you know, it’s the heart and soul that matters. And that’s what I love, yeah that’s what I admired. Yeah, and it is the essence. Thanks, Francesca! Thank you for asking that question, a new marriage proposal. Every day, take time to tell your partner how much you love them, how you appreciate them, even just a very quick moment of gratitude. I don’t know why not. We all renew our vows every day and reaffirm our commitment to each other on an unconditional level. We appreciate each other with understanding, and patience, and kindness, and support to face life’s challenges. And balance isn’t rigid. It is a constant ebb and flow to always compensate and adjust ourselves to maintain that balance. No matter what life throws at you as a couple, you should always be teammates. And it’s deeper and richer every day when you grow together. And I think that’s an incredible, incredible thing. And I’m so blessed to have that connection.

Driver: These speeches look like a new marriage proposal. And you know, yeah, every morning, why not to take time every day to express your gratitude to your partner, to just tell them what you love about them in a very brief moment. The things you admire about them because we renew our vows every day and we renew our commitment, and we both choose unconditionally to be here and to love each other the way we do.

Host: I’m fine with that. But have you ever thought about why Francesca’s tip note speaks to you?
Driver: These speeches look like a marriage proposal. And you know, every day, why not take time each day to express your gratitude to your partner in a very brief moment. We can renew our vows every day and the commitment we have to each other. Curious driver, you know, for me, it’s been said that you have to have male models too. And I’ve told you before, I’m so privileged to have had such a decent example of what a man should and can be.

Francesca: Oh it’s okay. You really made me think about many things. You know, sometimes what I ask from P is that she gives me a hundred percent that day. And that doesn’t mean it’s the same as yesterday that yesterday was a hundred percent and today is 30 of what yesterday was. But it’s a hundred for today. And vice versa that you have to have compassion yourself too. Knowing sometimes you’re not your hundred percent when you were not my hundred percent during those challenging mental moments, but they were giving everything they had and with what they had at that moment they were giving it and sometimes sometimes that’s all we need and sometimes that’s all anybody needs is a safe space to let their guards down and cry if they need to if they need to cry and just be there and know that their partner loves them.

Host: Alright, so Francesca asks – what do you admire in your partner, what quality do you appreciate. There are so many qualities. But one of the first things that I admire is your selflessness. How you never hesitate to help those who need you. You’re considerate, you’re giving and so generous. Sometimes though, you also need to set boundaries and say, "I can’t give anymore."
Host: When it comes to your step dad, we must be on the same rhythm. His compassion and his ability to appreciate the beauty in so many different things inspire me. Even in difficult circumstances, she still sees the beauty of her inner soul. I think that’s incredibly beautiful. And that’s the key to our relationship. As we get older, our physical appearance doesn’t change, but we appreciate the inner essence of our soul.
